These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at pdftoomd.com (the "Site") and the PDF to Markdown conversion tool it provides (the "Service"), operated by Corey Pepper ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Economic Area) and agree to these Terms in full.

2. Description of the Service

The Service is a free, browser-based utility that allows users to convert Portable Document Format (PDF) files into Markdown (.md) text format. All conversion processing occurs entirely client-side within the user's web browser. No file data is transmitted to, stored by, or processed on our servers.

3. Use of the Service

3.1 Permitted Use

You may use the Service for lawful purposes only. You are permitted to:

• Convert PDF files that you own or have the legal right to convert.
• Use the Markdown output for personal, educational, or commercial purposes, subject to the copyright of the original PDF content.
• Access the Site from any modern web browser on any device.

3.2 Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to process files that infringe the intellectual property rights of others, or for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from the Site's source code beyond the rights granted under the open-source licences of third-party libraries (e.g., PDF.js, which is licensed under Apache 2.0).
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access the Site at a rate that may impair performance for other users.
• Transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code through the Site.
• Attempt to circumvent or compromise the Site's security mechanisms.
• Use the Service in a manner that violates any applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Site Content

The design, text, graphics, layout, and code of this Site (excluding third-party open-source libraries) are owned by or licenced to Corey Pepper and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

4.2 Your Content

You retain all ownership and intellectual property rights in the PDF files you convert and the Markdown output you generate. Because the Service operates entirely client-side, we receive no licence, rights, or access to your content at any time.

4.3 Third-Party Libraries

The Service uses the following open-source libraries, each governed by their respective licences:

• PDF.js by Mozilla — Apache License 2.0
• Tailwind CSS — MIT License

5. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

5.1 No Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
• The conversion output will be perfectly accurate, complete, or preserve all formatting from the source PDF.
• The Service will correctly process all PDF files, including scanned documents, password-protected PDFs, or PDFs with complex layouts.
• Any defects will be corrected.

5.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Corey Pepper, its directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed USD $0 (zero dollars), reflecting that the Service is provided to you free of charge.

6. Indemnification
